  • I have a micro flower farm on my property as my passion began with growing. I am continually adapting and expanding the flowers I grow. When I need to source flowers outside of my own supplies, I try to use other local growers wherever possible to ensure the flowers are as fresh as possible, while also supporting other small businesses.

  • I began growing these varieties because of their hardiness during drought. I quickly became obsessed with the vase life these flowers have and their diversity to be used as both fresh cut flowers and dried flowers. I love that clients get value for money with the longevity of these flowers and that the recipient gets to admire the flowers for as long as possible.

  • While there are various methods to drying flowers, many of the posies I design can simply be dried by being left in the vase without water. Alternatively, you can also hang your flowers upside down in a darkened space for around 2 weeks, depending on how much moisture is in the air.

  • With the right care, dried designs can last for years. When kept out of direct sunlight and away from moisture sources, such as laundries and bathrooms, flowers can last for 3-5 years, or even more.

Be mindful that during times of extreme rain, there can be a lot of moisture in the air than can lead to mould.

When storing wreaths between seasons, I recommend laying them on a flat shelf in a well-ventilated room or cupboard, and having Damp Rid, or similar, nearby.
